Exploring molecular mechanisms of learning and memory in the roundworm C. elegans
The main interest of our group is to identify molecules that are regulating neuronal plasticity during learning and memory. We specially focus our interest on molecules that are key modulators of the actin cytoskeleton structure. We also combine neurobiology in C. elegans with human genome-wide association and fMRI studies, to explore conserved molecular mechanisms regulating learning and memory. Furthermore initiated studies to explore the molecular background of loss of learning and memory during aging.
