Many human diseases emerge late in life. In our laboratory we study the mechanisms that link the aging process to late onset disorders that are associated with toxic protein aggregation (proteotoxicity) at the molecular, cell biological and organismal levels.We also investigate stress resistance mechanisms, neuronal networks that control them and cell biological aspects of aggregate detoxification.
