Aging and aging-related disease

Our research work is focusing on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of ageing and ageing-related diseases, including:

  • investigating the function of different proteins of the ubiquitylation/deubiquitylation system in longevity and stress regulation by using the model organism of C. elegans
  • exploring how the different organellar quality control mechanisms, embedded in tissue specific proteostasis network cooperate and communicate in order to maintain organismal health
  • generating new C. elegans models for human diseases.
