Mechanisms of cell division
We are interested in understanding fundamental cell division processes, notably in the context of a developing organism. We focus in particular on two processes that are crucial for genome integrity, centriole assembly and asymmetric cell division. To address these fundamental biological questions, we use a combination of genetic, functional genomic, biochemical, proteomic and cell biological approaches, primarily in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans and in human cells in culture.
