Improve C. elegans research with new tools and solutions

Together with Universities and Researchers we develop tools or solutions to improve the efficiency of researchers in the lab. After several requests, lots of research and hard work we were able to create a freeze-dried food source for C. elegans. OP50 was the first strain to be turned into a consistent and convenient freeze-dried product. More strains will be developed in a similar way, as we’ve already had several request for additional food sources as HB101 and others.

The freeze-dried OP50 was actually developed for our own use, as we need a large amount of feed for our project; the HVBS. HVBS stands for High Volume Breeder and Synchronizer, which is an unique system currently still under development. The HVBS will revolutionize the breeding and synchronization of C. elegans with an unprecedented level of synchronization, quality and high volume output. This will allow researchers to harvest large amounts of eggs in a small time frame for any type of research, but most important, high throughput screenings
