Cellular plasticity and direct reprogramming
The aim of the work performed in my laboratory is to unravel the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying how a differentiated cell maintains or change its identity. We have established a powerful model of natural direct reprogramming that allows to probe this phenomenon at the single cell level. We study what makes a cell permissive to reprogramming, the molecular network driving the initiation of the process, the cellular steps involved, the mechanisms ensuring the efficiency and robustness of the process, as well as the components that are common to different reprogramming events.
