Identification and characterization of pathways forming the foundations of toxicogenomics

Some molecules are exclusively toxic to biological systems and others are essential for life; their interplay are vital drivers of well being, longevity and survival. Nevertheless, above certain threshold concentrations all compounds (including essential ones) become toxic. By exploiting genomic, proteomic and toxicological tools we study the homeostasis of essential elements and detoxification of non-essential elements with the ultimate aim to identify and characterize intricate pathways which form the foundations of Toxicogenomics.
